At around 1:30 p.m. on December 1, a major fire broke out at a land plot near Hoa Vang Medical Center.
According to initial records, this is an area where dozens of containers containing goods are gathered. The fire quickly spread, rising tens of meters high accompanied by many loud explosions. The column of black, thick smoke rising to a very high height, which can be observed from a distance of tens of kilometers, makes many people worried.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police (PCCC& CNCH), Da Nang City Police immediately dispatched about 10 specialized fire trucks, along with dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to carry out fire fighting work.
At the scene, firefighting encountered many difficulties because the road leading to the land was quite narrow, fire trucks had to take turns moving to replenish water and put out the fire.
After nearly 2 hours of effort, by about 3:30 p.m. the same day, the fire was basically controlled, preventing the fire from spreading to neighboring areas.
The area where the fire occurred was sparsely populated. Initial information said that the fire did not cause any human casualties, however, many containers and goods inside were burned down, causing great property damage.
Currently, the authorities are continuing to spray water to cool down and block off the scene to investigate and clarify the cause of the fire.
