Handing over a rare golden mountain turtle to release to Vu Quang National Park

Ha Tinh - A rare golden mountain turtle was discovered by local people and arrested to hand over to the authorities for release to Vu Quang National Park.

On the morning of July 21, Hong Loc Commune Police coordinated with the Forest Protection Department and the family of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hao (residing in Hong Loc Commune) to hand over a rare golden mountain turtle to Vu Quang National Park for care, rescue, and release back into the natural environment.

It is known that this turtle weighs 1.7kg, scientifically known as the Golden Mountain Turtle (Indotestudo elongata), belonging to group IIB, a list of endangered and rare plants and animals.

Previously, on the morning of July 20, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hao's family, while visiting the garden, discovered a golden turtle. After that, the family arrested him and reported it to the Hong Loc commune police for handover in order to release him back to the wild.
