Faced with the increasing inland waterway traffic and water recreation activities, especially during the summer tourism season, on May 29, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan directed departments and branches to strengthen management to ensure the safety of tourists.
The Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to urgently propose the announcement of inland waterway routes. This is to create conditions for qualified vehicles to participate in traffic, serving the development of the province's marine tourism in a systematic and effective manner.

Research on management and organization of traffic on inland waterways, especially this summer - the time when the demand for tourism and recreation at sea increases. In addition, it is necessary to propose the construction of inland waterway wharves to serve ships and boats carrying tourists.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan requested the People's Committee of Quy Nhon City to coordinate with functional units to promptly announce the areas where water recreation and entertainment vehicles are allowed to operate in accordance with regulations. This both ensures the safety of participants and avoids chaos and disputes over the operating space at sea.
"The city must strengthen management and direct the People's Committees of communes to proactively monitor and strictly control the operation of vehicles serving water recreation and entertainment. At the same time, coordinate with businesses and cooperatives in the tourism sector to deploy investment in building a system of inland waterway wharves and cross-river passenger wharves, creating favorable and safe conditions for tourist boats and ships to operate," Mr. Pham Anh Tuan directed.
The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is assigned the task of organizing training courses for water recreation and entertainment equipment operators - a necessary step to improve skills, legal awareness and ensure operating conditions according to regulations.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province requires all vehicles and controllers participating in inland waterway transport activities serving tourism to fully meet the prescribed conditions. Resolutely do not allow vehicles that do not ensure technical conditions and safety for transporting passengers at sea.
Previously, on May 1, in the Hon Kho sea area (Nhon Hai commune, Quy Nhon city), a water motorbike had an accident that caused it to lose control and plunge ashore, killing one person and injuring three others. This incident shows that tightening the management of inland waterway traffic and water recreation activities is necessary to ensure the safety of people and tourists.
