On April 19, the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the North - South expressway in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section.
The starting location is at DH 507 road, hamlet 3, Tien Hung commune, Dong Xoai city, Binh Phuoc province.
Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee started the component project 3 to invest in the construction of a service road and an overpass across the province. Component project 3 is about 95 km long, with a road surface width of 3.5 m, sidewalks on each side 1.5 m wide, cement concrete road surface structure, and a new design of 20 overpasses. The total investment is 951 billion VND from the central budget.
At the same time, the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province also implemented component project 5 - compensation, support, and resettlement through Binh Phuoc province. The total investment is 3,977 billion VND from the central budget and provincial budget.
The People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province said that the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway has a total length of about 124 km. Of which, the section through Dak R'lap district, Dak Nong province is about 23 km long, the section through Binh Phuoc province is about 101 km long. The project is planned with a scale of 6 high-speed lanes, designed speed from 100 - 120 km/h.
In phase one, the project is invested under the PPP method with a scale of 4 lanes for high-speed vehicles, continuous emergency lanes for vehicles, roadbed width of 24.75 m. The section passing through Dong Xoai city alone has a roadbed width of 25.5 m (in between the lighting system). The total investment of the project is about 20,434 billion VND.
The Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway Project is divided into 5 component projects including: Component project 1 - Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway construction; Component project 2 and 3 - investment in the construction of service roads and overpasses; Component project 4 and 5 - compensation, support, and resettlement.
Of the 5 component projects, Binh Phuoc province implemented component projects 1, 3 and 5.
Other component projects are also being urgently deployed to start construction. It is expected that the project will be basically completed in 2026 and put into operation in 2027.
