The Ministry of Industry and Trade works with TKV on the situation of coal production and supply for electricity production

On December 2, the working delegation representing the Ministry of Industry and Trade had a working session with the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV).

Reporting on the situation of coal production, trading and coal supply for power production in 2025 to the leaders of the Department of Petroleum and Coal (Ministry of Industry and Trade), TKV stated: according to the assessment of the increasingly low level of mining conditions, going far and increasing production costs; the implementation of procedures for granting licenses for exploration, exploitation, investment, restructuring and recruiting workers for tunnel exploitation still faces difficulties and difficulties; complicated weather, many storms, so hydropower is mobilized to the maximum, leading to reduced coal supply for thermal power plants, difficult coal consumption... TKV expects to produce 38.4 million tons of raw coal in 2025, equal to 100.9% of the annual plan; consume 44 million tons of coal (88%) of the annual plan), of which the supply of electricity is expected to be implemented at 36.76 million tons, equal to 8.76 million tons and 2024.
