On December 15, the People's Council of Dak Nong province announced that it had issued a resolution to adjust the expenditure areas of the 2024 State budget estimate. At the same time, it added counterpart funds to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
The Provincial People's Council decided to add 6 billion VND to the 2024 budget for the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board. The purpose is to implement the construction investment project to renovate, upgrade and thoroughly treat environmental pollution at the Dak R'lap district garbage collection site.
The above project was approved by the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee in 2018. The project was implemented in Dao Nghia Commune (Dak R'lap District), aiming to improve the efficiency of solid waste treatment in the district. Thereby, improving the environment, ensuring public health and thoroughly handling secondary pollution sources.
In particular, the project will address environmental problems caused by the old landfill in Dak B'lao (Kien Duc town, Dak R'lap district) during its existence, contributing to the implementation of environmental policies.
The project is invested by the Dak Nong Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, and the Dak R'lap District People's Committee carries out site clearance.
The project has a scale of over 15 hectares, with a total investment of nearly 59 billion VND from the central budget and other legal capital sources.
The project was expected to be completed in May 2023. However, after 51% of the work was completed, it was suspended to wait for land and capital.
Currently, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee has agreed to extend and request the project to be completed before December 31, 2023, but the project is still delayed and prolonged.
While waiting for the above project to be completed, people living near the old landfill in Dak B'lao (Kien Duc town) still suffer daily from pollution from smoke, bad smell, and black water from the landfill...
