Practical vocational training for workers
After studying beauty profession organized by the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Ms. H'Truyen has solid knowledge to create jobs for herself. Ms. H'Truyen is currently doing makeup for people in need in the area.
"Every month I have a relatively good source of additional income. The new career opens up stable job opportunities and a bright future, so I decided to take an advanced course to meet the needs of many customers," Ms. H'Truyen shared.
Not only Ms. H'Truyen, recently, Buon Ma Thuot city has opened many vocational training classes to improve the quality of human resources, opening up jobs for workers, especially those in difficult circumstances.
Regarding vocational training, in 2022, Buon Ma Thuot City Party Committee issued Resolution 08-NQ/TU on sustainable poverty reduction associated with vocational training and job creation in the city, period 2022 - 2025.
In particular, Buon Ma Thuot city strives to have a 60% rate of trained workers by 2025. Each year, the locality increases the rate of trained workers by 1.2% - 1.3%... The authorities introduce jobs to 9,500 workers or more.
After nearly 3 years of implementing Resolution 08, the authorities of Buon Ma Thuot city and other localities have achieved many positive results.
For example, in 2024, the city's Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs coordinated with relevant units to open 22 vocational classes with a total of 770 participants. Of these, 665 students were ethnic minorities.
Ms. Bui Thi Phuong Thao - Deputy Head of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Buon Ma Thuot City - said: "After finishing vocational training classes, some businesses have proactively placed orders with vocational training institutions to recruit students.
Linking vocational training for workers with market needs has contributed to solving employment and providing timely labor for businesses.
According to Ms. Thao, for non-agricultural vocational students, over 90% of students after vocational training are accepted into businesses, production facilities or create their own jobs to increase their income.
Along with that, Buon Ma Thuot city is also strengthening the integration of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction and the Poverty Reduction Program.
Thereby, ensuring that 100% of workers from poor households, near-poor households, and newly escaped poverty households... in need of career orientation support, labor market information provision, and job search support.
Vocational training associated with job creation
In the coming time, the city will continue to strengthen leadership and direction to effectively implement vocational training for rural workers.
"We consider vocational training a regular task of all levels, sectors and the whole society. The city will promote information, propaganda and dissemination of support policies on vocational training and job creation so that people can understand and support it" - Mr. Pham Tien Hung, Permanent Vice Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee, shared.
According to Mr. Hung, at the end of vocational training courses, the encouraging thing is that students have found suitable jobs or created their own jobs, with stable incomes.
In 2025, Buon Ma Thuot City authorities will coordinate with vocational training institutions to open more vocational training classes. Priority will be given to opening vocational training classes for workers from poor households, near-poor households, households that have just escaped poverty, and ethnic minorities...
"The effective implementation of vocational training and job creation for rural workers and ethnic minorities has contributed to the implementation of policies and tasks set forth by the City Party Committee and People's Council," Mr. Pham Tien Hung excitedly shared.
