Bac Lieu 5 Bridge starts at the intersection of Tran Huynh - Vo Thi Sau road across the Bac Lieu - Ca Mau equator with a total length of about 3,000 m, with a total investment of nearly 1,000 billion VND.
This bridge will connect with Ward 3 (old) and Ward 8 (old), where there has been no car road for 30 years. People in Tra Kha hamlet, which has long been used for a suspension bridge, have seriously degraded.
The Bac Lieu 5 Bridge project aims to gradually complete the traffic network in Ca Mau province after the merger, at the same time, connect and expand urban space in the central area of the old Bac Lieu city, including Vinh Trach, Hiep Thanh, Bac Lieu wards. The project also contributes to improving the ability to exploit infrastructure, creating momentum to promote economic development for the Mekong Delta sub-region.
The bridge has a total estimated investment of nearly 1,000 billion VND, allocated from the central budget, provincial budget and other legal capital sources in the period of 2026-2030, implementation period from 2026-2029.
According to the design, the bridge is over 20 m wide, including 4 lanes, with an operating speed of 50 km/h; the approach road to the bridge is 28 m wide, ensuring smooth and safe traffic.
According to the Decision approving the project, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province assigned the Bac Lieu Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to organize the implementation of the next steps in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Law on Public Investment and relevant laws; at the same time, take full responsibility for the accuracy of the content, information, data and compliance with the provisions of law for the Project Investment Proposal Report dossier submitted for approval; fully absorb the opinions of departments, branches and the Appraisal Council to complete the dossier according to regulations.
