On the afternoon of July 17, the Ca Mau Land Fund Development Center said: According to the direction of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, by August 17, the site for the route and intersection in Dat Mui commune will be handed over; the remaining area will be completed and handed over before December 13, 2025.
According to the plan just issued by the Provincial People's Committee, on August 5, the compensation and resettlement plan for people affected by the project will be approved and immediately (August 8) compensation will be paid, determined to hand over the site to the project management agency on August 17.

The total estimated source for land acquisition for project implementation is about 2,000 billion VND from the budget.
The Ca Mau - Dat Mui Expressway project has a total length of over 81 km, starting at the beginning of the route connecting to the end of the Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway, passing through the communes of Ho Thi Ky, Khanh An, Khanh Binh, Luong The Tran, Hung My, Cai Nuoc, Phu My, Nguyen Viet Khai, Dat Moi, Dat Mui.
The Ca Mau - Dat Mui Expressway has a scale of 4 lanes, a design speed of 100km/h, a road surface width of 24.75 m with a total estimated investment of nearly 59,000 billion VND, and is under construction under the emergency mechanism, expected to be completed in 2028. The project was constructed by the 12th Corps (Ministry of National Defense).
Connecting with the expressway is the overpass from Dat Mui to Hon Khoai Port with an expected length of 17.55km, a scale of 4 lanes, a design speed of 80km/h with a total estimated investment of VND17,000 billion. At the same time, a two-way Hon Khoai General Port will be built in the South between Hon Khoai and Hon Sao islands with a total area of nearly 629 hectares, facilitating economic development associated with ensuring national defense and security at the maritime border.
