At this time, the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway under the North - South expressway project is in the final stage. From the main routes to the bridge, road and traffic safety system items, the construction atmosphere at the construction site is urgent and bustling with the voices of workers and machinery.

Although the Western region is in the rainy season, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, many engineers and workers on the expressway section through Hau Giang province (old) are still working tirelessly and tirelessly.
Ms. Huynh Ngoc Mai (43 years old, Bac Lieu province - now Ca Mau province) shared that she and her husband have been renting a room from Ca Mau to Hau Giang (old) for more than 2 years and have worked since the first days of the expressway construction. From there, working without a day off, except when the machinery is broken, the rest is taking advantage of every hour and every minute to ensure work progress.

Ms. Huynh Ngoc Mai said that the rainy season is much more difficult, the construction site is muddy, and the transportation and use of machinery is also difficult. But everyone clearly understands the meaning of the project, so whether it is rain or shine, they still try their best.
Mr. Bui Thanh Tung - an engineer at Truong Son Construction Corporation - said that during this time, it rained almost every day, but the unit still constructed continuously. According to Mr. Tung, the unit has proactively developed a plan to deploy work suitable for workers, and at the same time, took advantage of the rainy weather to roll the roadbed to achieve efficiency.

A representative of the Truong Son Executive Board informed that the rainy weather has affected some items, but the unit has proactively adjusted the floor treatment solution to vacuum pumps (VCM) to shorten the time.
In addition, the construction of the route and traffic safety system is also being implemented, including the production and installation of fences, median strips, and parallel corrugated iron. In addition, contractors continuously work overtime and increase shifts to compensate for the progress.

Currently, at the construction site, contractors are arranging 200 construction teams, 955 machines and equipment and 2,125 personnel to carry out the construction simultaneously.

For the main route, the total length of weak soil that needs to be treated according to the relocation plan is 83.32km (of which, Can Tho - Hau Giang is 32.57km, Hau Giang - Ca Mau is 50.75km); according to the VCM plan is 8.9km; according to the CDM plan is 9.94km. The ground handling with cement piles for construction reached 9.72/9.94km (reaching 98%); the unloaded load reached 18.46/83.32km (22%).
