On January 21, Hanoi weather turned cold, with occasional drizzle, but the construction atmosphere at the Ring Road 2.5 project site, Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section, was still extremely urgent.

The Ring Road 2.5 construction project, Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section, is invested in the form of a BT contract (build - transfer) with a length of 1.6 km, with a total investment of more than 1,300 billion VND. The project started in 2014, expected to be completed in 2017 but was delayed.
By 2020, the project was temporarily suspended when it only reached about 40% of the workload. The reason is due to problems in site clearance and extension of BT contract appendices.
After 5 years of suspension, by the end of May 2025, with the permission of the Hanoi People's Committee, Hoang Mai - Hanoi Construction Investment Co., Ltd. (the project enterprise) organized the project restarting ceremony.

Representatives of Hoang Mai Construction Investment Co., Ltd. - Hanoi said that many workers and machinery have been mobilized to construct day and night, "3 shifts, 4 teams" simultaneously deploying items of the project.
With the workload reaching 95%, the investor and contractors are focusing all their efforts towards the important milestone of technical opening on February 10, 2026.
We encountered many obstacles in the construction process such as both construction and ensuring traffic safety, and scarcity of materials. However, the investor and contractor are trying to gradually overcome difficulties to complete the project according to the schedule assigned by the city" - said a representative of Hoang Mai Construction Investment Co., Ltd. - Hanoi.
This is not only an effort to reduce traffic congestion for the southern area of the city but also a meaningful project to celebrate the success of the 14th National Party Congress.
Another project is also accelerating to be completed, opening to traffic on February 10th is the Kim Dong - Giai Phong intersection underpass project.

The Kim Dong - Giai Phong intersection underpass construction project has a tunnel length and access road of 890 m in the direction of Ring Road 2.5.
The project was started in October 2022, with a total investment of about 778 billion VND, invested by the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
This is the 5th underpass project in Hanoi since 2009 after the Kim Lien, Trung Hoa, Thanh Xuan and Le Van Luong tunnels.
To date, the project has basically completed the main items and is constructing the final items.

At the Kim Dong - Giai Phong intersection, the contractor is deploying the installation of traffic light poles, painted lines, and installed traffic diversion islands.
Mr. Tran Binh Dinh - engineer of the Kim Dong - Giai Phong underpass project management board - said that the contractor has met with the investor, the inter-sectoral Department of Construction and the unit to develop traffic organization plans at the Kim Dong - Giai Phong intersection as soon as possible, to serve the travel needs of the people.

At the Ring Road 1 project site, Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section in the city center, technical infrastructure items such as drainage and technical trenches are being deployed by contractors in the form of rolling and rolling, moving to where.
Two direct overpasses on the route at the Nguyen Chi Thanh and Giang Vo intersections are also being built.

Representatives of the Hanoi Civil Construction Investment Project Management Board said that right from the time of handing over the site on December 15, 2025, the investor has requested contractors to mobilize full personnel, equipment, and construction materials continuously during holidays and public holidays.
The entire road and two overpasses at Giang Vo and Nguyen Chi Thanh intersections are expected to be completed in 2026, contributing to reducing inner-city traffic congestion and changing the urban appearance.
