In response to the complicated developments of storm No. 12, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) issued an urgent telegram, requesting member units and capital representatives at joint stock companies to immediately deploy measures to respond to floods, inundation, flash floods and landslides, ensuring the power system operates safely and stably.
EVNCPC identifies the key task as ensuring continuous and safe power supply, minimizing damage caused by storms. The EVNCPC Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue has reviewed and activated flood response plans at all affiliated units.
Units will increase the clearing of the route corridor, coordinate with local authorities to prune trees at risk of falling, inspect and reinforce headquarters, transformer stations, material warehouses, and rooftop solar power projects. The force is deployed 24/7 to be on duty, fully prepared with equipment, spare materials and means to be ready to fix incidents when situations arise.

In particular, EVNCPC requires hydropower reservoir owners to strictly comply with the inter-reservoir and single-reservoir operation procedures, strictly follow the instructions of competent authorities, ensure the safety of dams and downstream areas. Project management units must review construction sites, move equipment, cover materials, and arrange forces to be on duty during storms.
At 11:00 a.m. on October 22, large lakes on the Vu Gia - Thu Bon river system such as A Vuong, Song Bung 4, Song Tranh 2, Dak Mi 4 are operating and regulating according to the correct procedures, ensuring safety for the project and downstream areas. Currently, the amount of water entering is equivalent to the flow flow through the generating plant, generating electricity and through the spillway (there is no flood discharge). The water level of the reservoirs is still able to receive and cut floodwaters.
EVNCPC also requested to strengthen propaganda and instruct people on safe use of electricity during the storm season, closely coordinate with local authorities to overcome the consequences of the storm, contributing to stabilizing the power system in the Central - Central Highlands region.
