Commune officials in Lao Cai crash into a crowd, killing 1 person and injuring 10 others

Lao Cai - The driver, an officer of Phong Du Thuong commune, drove an accident on the evening of August 11, causing 11 casualties.

On August 12, information from the People's Committee of Phong Du Thuong commune said that at around 8:00 p.m. on August 11, a serious traffic accident occurred in the commune at the Lang Chang village Cultural House.

A car suddenly crashed into a crowd watching an art performance, causing P.D.K. (born in 2017, student of Phong Du Thuong Primary School) died on the spot and 10 others were injured.

Immediately afterwards, the victims were taken to Van Yen General Hospital for emergency treatment; of which, 3 people were transferred to higher-level facilities, and their health condition is currently unknown.

The driver's identity was identified as Mr. Lo Van Manh, an officer of Phong Du Thuong commune.

It is known that before the accident, Mr. Manh drove from Nam Phong restaurant to attend an art program at Lang Chang village cultural house, when he arrived, the car suddenly crashed into a crowd.

The incident is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
