Linking vocational training with economic development
In 2024, Dak Song District People's Committee has set a goal of continuing to innovate and improve the quality of vocational training for rural workers.
The district determined that training to improve knowledge to serve the economic restructuring and labor structure for new rural construction must correspond to changes in technology and digital transformation in the locality.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Than - Vice Chairman of Dak Song District People's Committee shared: "In the immediate future, Dak Song District Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center needs to focus on strengthening enrollment and diversifying training forms.
In particular, focusing on vocational training for unemployed rural workers, poor households, and those in difficult circumstances...
However, the difficulty is that there are currently no large-scale enterprises in Dak Song district. Therefore, the support of the Provincial People's Committee is needed in making decisions to attract investors to the district.
From there, investors will build local factories to meet the needs of workers who need stable jobs on the spot after receiving proper vocational training.
According to Mr. Than, the district will continue to improve and enhance the quality of vocational education in general education. This will contribute to a strong change in the work of directing students to participate in appropriate vocational training.
"The district will innovate vocational training to meet the requirements of future socio-economic development in the locality," Mr. Than emphasized.
For example, Mr. Pham Van Hanh, in Dak N'Drung commune (Dak Song district), previously participated in a vocational training course in cultivation and plant protection. From the knowledge he learned, Mr. Hanh has developed more than 3 hectares of pepper, macadamia and other fruit trees, helping to develop his family's economy.
According to the assessment of the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Dak Song district, after participating in vocational training, many students of the unit have been able to start their own businesses.
Among them, many people have bought livestock to develop animal husbandry, and there are also other households pursuing the development of industrial crops and high-value fruit trees. The most exciting thing is that many people have succeeded, rising up to escape poverty sustainably.
