On October 22, Permanent Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Duong Tan Hien signed and issued two Decisions No. 2318 and 2319 on closing the sand mine on the Hau River in Area 1 and Area 2 of the sand mine in Thuan Hung Ward and Tan Loc Ward (Thot Not District), with the license holder being Duc Thanh Company Limited.
The two decisions also clearly state that the purpose of closing the two sand mines is to manage and protect unexploited minerals according to the provisions of the law on land and related laws; and to restore the environment of the exploited area.
According to Decision 2318, the area of the mine closure is 45 hectares; and according to Decision 2319, the area of the mine closure is 100 hectares.
The two decisions stated that Duc Thanh Company Limited had implemented and completed all contents and work items according to the Mine Closure Project approved in Decision No. 35 and 36 of Can Tho City People's Committee.
The amount of money deposited for environmental improvement and restoration that is refunded in the two decisions is 699,483,343 VND and the deposit interest.
Duc Thanh Company Limited is responsible for reporting to relevant authorities to carry out handover procedures. Complete the liquidation of land lease contracts and other contracts related to the implementation of mineral exploitation of the closed mining area according to the provisions of law.
