On December 3, information from the People's Committee of Can Tho City said that on December 19, the city will simultaneously inaugurate and start construction of 7 large-scale projects and works, welcoming the 14th National Congress of the Party.
The most prominent of these projects is the East-West economic development axis road, more than 56 km long, with a total investment of nearly VND 2,000 billion, which is expected to become a "backbone" connecting the socio-economy of the Western region.
The East-West route is invested from the central budget combined with local budget headings. once completed, it will directly connect the entire western area of Soc Trang province (old) with key national highways such as Quan Lo - Phung Hiep, Nam Song Hau and National Highway 1A. This is considered an important internal and external traffic axis, creating momentum for socio-economic development not only for Can Tho but also for neighboring areas.
2 projects will be inaugurated on the same day, including the Kim Cuong Xanh - Cara River Park Apartment Complex in Cai Rang Ward (total investment of 564 billion VND) and Hong Loan Social Housing Apartment, Block B, C and 4-storey parking lot (nearly 467 billion VND).
4 projects started construction include Wind Power Plant No. 7 phase 2 in Vinh Hai commune, designed capacity of 90 MW (total investment of VND 3,728 billion); Nguyen Chi Thanh Bridge and Road project and social housing apartment projects Hong Loan Block A and An Phu Eco City.
