The Dong Thap Provincial Hydrometeorological and Hydrological Station has just issued a warning about the risk of widespread flooding in the area.
According to the forecast, in the southwestern area and the downstream area of the Tien River, the water level at the stations will continue to rise in the coming days following the high tide in early October of the lunar calendar. The highest peak tide of this period is likely to appear from November 19 to 22 (September 30 to October 3 of the lunar calendar), at 5 - 25 cm above alert level III. During this period, there is a possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms, some places have moderate rain, locally heavy rain in the area, increasing the level of flooding.

In the face of the above situation, the Dong Thap Provincial Hydrometeorological and Hydrological Station warned of high tides combined with heavy rainfall in place causing widespread flooding in low-lying areas, low-lying areas, riverside areas, areas outside the dykes... in the Southwest and downstream areas such as: Cao Lanh, Sa Dec, Cai Lay, My Tho, Trung An, My Phuoc Tay wards; Tan Duong, Lap Vo, Lai Vung, Phu Huu, Tan Nhuan Dong, Hau My, An Huu, My An, Cai Be commune, Ngu Hiep, Hiep Duc, Long Tien, Hoi Cu, Kim Son, Long Dinh, Long Hung, Vinh Kim, Binh Trung, Cho Gao, Binh Ninh, My Tinh An, Vu Vi, Thoi Than, Dong Phu...
The flooding time will occur from 3am - 7am and 5pm - 9pm from November 14 to 23. The maximum flooding depth is from 0.7 - 1.4 m. There is a risk of landslides in flooded areas.
The Dong Thap Provincial Hydrometeorological and Hydrological Station warns of the impact of high tides causing flooding, landslides in low-lying areas, vulnerable areas, along rivers, outside dykes, threatening areas with low and weak dykes... negatively affecting production, fruit-growing gardens, crops, aquaculture, transportation, daily life, property damage and socio-economic activities in the area.
