The desolate scene inside the burnt glass factory in Lao Cai

Lao Cai - Almost all of the raw material warehouse and factory area of the glass factory in Au Lau Industrial Cluster were completely burned down after the fire.

Speaking to reporters, a representative of the MMA organic glass factory - LTT Production and Trading Joint Stock Company ( Au Lau Industrial Cluster, Au Lau Ward, Lao Cai Province) said that the enterprise is temporarily suspending operations to overcome the consequences of the fire.

According to the representative, the fire that occurred on the evening of July 29 completely burned down the raw material warehouse and the factory area. The machinery was damaged up to 80-90%, unable to be repaired.

The goods and raw materials for production were also submerged in a sea of fire. Only a few finished products remained and were transferred to the operator's house and warehouse area.

On July 30, present at the MMA organic glass factory, the reporter recorded smoke still rising from the raw material warehouse, occasionally with smoldering fire spots.

Around the factory, trees were burned black, machinery was lying around and rusted after the fire. Loads of raw materials and pieces of glass are scattered all over the road.

In the factory area, the faces of the workers were stunned by the water pumping into the fires and shocked by the devastation of the factory.

According to the workers here, the company has about 50 workers. The salary regime is nearly 10 million VND/month. Now that the factory has temporarily stopped operating, many people are worried about what life will be like in the future.

Meanwhile, the fire police force, Lao Cai Provincial Police on duty for rescue and relief said that it took 6 hours to completely control the fire.

The fire area was deep inside the factory, with many flammable materials such as packaging, chemicals, p durable wood, etc., so the fire department had difficulty accessing it.

According to the investigation, the Investment Project for Industrial and Construction Materials Factories ( incense and Organic glass - MMA) of LTT Production Trading Joint Stock Company with a total project area of 1 hectare, a total investment of 50 billion VND, a capacity of 9,800 tons of products/year, and an expected average revenue of 230 billion VND/year.

The fire broke out at 8:00 p.m. on July 29, burning down 2,000 tons of MMA organic glass solutions - construction materials and nearly 3,000m2 of raw material warehouse, 645m2 of factory.

According to preliminary statistics from the authorities, the initial damage is estimated at about 45 billion VND. The company is working with the police to clarify the cause of the incident.
