The Ministry of Construction said that in the past time, on component projects investing in the Mai Son - National Highway 45, National Highway 45 - Nghi Son, Nghi Son - Dien Chau, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay sections under the North - South Expressway construction project in the East phase 2017 - 2020, there has been a situation of cutting, stealing, burning, and destroying the power cable and data transmission cable system in some localities.
These acts affect the connection and data transmission of the traffic monitoring and control system and the non-stop electronic toll collection system; disrupt the work of monitoring and controlling traffic, organizing toll collection on the route; potentially cause unsafety, traffic congestion and potentially cause loss of toll revenue.
To strengthen the protection of road traffic infrastructure assets, promptly prevent and handle the above situation, the Ministry of Construction requests the People's Committees of provinces to direct the implementation of some of the following contents:
Direct the Police force and relevant functional forces to strengthen grasping the situation, patrolling and controlling in areas at risk of theft, burning, and sabotage of power cable systems and data transmission cables; strengthen measures to prevent, combat, prevent and promptly handle violations.
Coordinate with relevant agencies and units to organize investigations and clarify the incidents that have occurred; handle violations according to the provisions of law.
Directing local authorities to strengthen local management, promptly detect and inform functional forces of acts of cutting, burning, and destroying power cables and data transmission cables.
Coordinate propaganda and mobilize people to raise awareness of protecting property and road traffic infrastructure; encourage people to detect and denounce violations.
