Binh Trieu 1 Bridge opened to traffic after a period of clearing the clearance, contributing to reducing congestion and improving traffic at the Northeast gateway of Ho Chi Minh City.

The project to raise the clearance of Binh Trieu 1 bridge on National Highway 13, the section connecting Binh Thanh ward with Hiep Binh ward, has been completed after more than two months of temporary suspension of automobile traffic. According to the announcement of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, from November 23, Binh Trieu 1 Bridge will reopen to one-way traffic from National Highway 13 towards Thu Duc City (formerly), while Binh Trieu 2 Bridge will continue to operate in the opposite direction.

The project has a total investment of 133 billion VND, a length of 554 m and has been raised by more than 1 m of clearance to ensure traffic on the Saigon River as well as increase road traffic capacity. During the construction period, National Highway 13 and Pham Van Dong Avenue often fell into a state of prolonged congestion, causing great pressure on the Northeast gateway of the city.

The operation of Binh Trieu 1 Bridge not only restores traffic on the main artery of the area but also significantly improves the smoothness at the Northeast gateway of Ho Chi Minh City - where congestion often occurs when there are incidents or heavy rain.

The resumption of traffic on Binh Trieu 1 Bridge is expected to reduce traffic volume, especially during rush hour.

According to the Department of Construction, the project will help relieve traffic pressure, reduce congestion and improve safety for traffic participants in the area.

Despite the opening of traffic, the authorities are still completing all acceptance procedures, clearing the road surface and coordinating with the traffic police force - local authorities to increase patrols to ensure absolute safety for traffic participants.
