As one of the infrastructure projects across the river to expand urban space and enhance inter-regional connectivity, Da Phuc Bridge plays an important role on the main traffic axis in the Southern Thai Nguyen.
The bridge over the Cong River is entering the final stages of completion, preparing to meet the conditions for technical traffic, connecting Pho Yen City (old) with Soc Son District (old) of Hanoi.
The project is one of the bridges under the project to renovate weak bridges and connecting bridges on national highways (phase 1) invested by the Ministry of Transport (old), with a total cost of nearly 1,500 billion VND from the World Bank loan.
Da Phuc Bridge has been implemented since August 2022, located on National Highway 3.3, not only serving as an inter-provincial traffic gateway, but also a regional connection point with Noi Bai Airport and Hanoi Capital.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper at the end of July 2025, after nearly 3 years of implementation, the project has basically completed items such as main girders, railings, bridge deck, asphalt pavement, etc.
The items at both ends of the bridge, including the approach roads on the Thai Nguyen and Hanoi sides, have now been completed.
Currently, the contractor is installing signs, cleaning the construction site and handling technical details before handing over.
Regularly traveling here, Mr. Trinh Trung Kien said that before the project was implemented, vehicles still had to travel through the old Da Phuc bridge, a narrow bridge that had been in use for many years.
Every day, the traffic volume across the old Da Phuc bridge is very large, mainly heavy trucks and passenger cars. The bridge surface is narrow and there are no separate lanes, so motorbikes have to squeeze close to the edge to avoid the risk of collision.

"Even on rainy days, limited visibility, slippery roads, just not paying attention or getting a little off the handlebars can be dangerous.
Many people had to slow down or stop completely to give way to large vehicles before daring to continue moving" - Mr. Kien said.
The implementation of the new bridge project and its opening to traffic will remove traffic bottlenecks on National Highway 3 on the border of the two provinces, making traffic safer and more convenient.
Previously, Mr. Nguyen Trong Dam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuan Thanh Ward (now Trung Thanh Ward) informed that the construction items on the Thai Nguyen side have been completed.
The new Da Phuc bridge is expected to be completed in 2025. When put into operation, the project will reduce the load on the old bridge, while expanding the development space in the South of the province and connecting directly with Hanoi, an important development direction in the urbanization process.
