This is the second largest investment bridge in Quang Ngai, after Co Luy Bridge with an investment capital of VND 2,250 billion.
On April 23, Mr. Ngo Van Dung - Director of the Quang Ngai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor of Tra Khuc 1 Bridge) said that the unit has built 3 specific timelines to ensure the conditions to start the Tra Khuc 1 Bridge project by the end of 2025.
According to the plan, in May 525, the Management Board of the Investment Project Construction of Quang Ngai Transport works will be completed and submitted to the Ministry of Construction to appraise the feasibility study report. After that, the unit will organize a bidding, select the contractor to survey, make a construction design drawing and complete the design dossier in August. Next, the bidding will select the construction contractor, sign a contract and plan to start the work before October 15, in accordance with the direction of the provincial People's Committee.
The new Tra Khuc 1 bridge project is about 830m long, with a bridge surface width of 28m; the two ends of the bridge are designed with intersections, underpasses and other auxiliary items. The project will be implemented in the period of 2024 - 2027.
In 2023, Quang Ngai organized a competition for architectural and design plans for Tra Khuc 1 bridge. Accordingly, the bridge is designed with 3 consecutive circles, creating the image of a water car bank in the middle of Tra Khuc river - symbolic, associated with the history of formation and development of Quang Ngai.
The project is invested with the goal of perfecting the traffic network, improving transport capacity and connecting the northern gateway to the center of Quang Ngai. At the same time, expanding and developing urban space on both sides of the river, creating a highlight of landscape architecture, building a symbol for Quang Ngai urban center.
Currently, Quang Ngai has 7 bridges across Tra Khuc River, including: Co Luy, Tra Khuc 2, Tra Khuc 1, Thach Bich, Truong Xuan railway bridge, Tra Khuc bridge on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway and Ha Thuan bridge.
