At about 2:00 a.m. on October 5, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC&CNCH) of An Giang Provincial Police received a report from local residents about a fire at the Dien May Xanh Store, belonging to Mobile World Joint Stock Company (on Tran Hung Dao Street, My Phuoc Ward, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province).
Immediately, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of An Giang Province deployed 10 fire trucks, 1 rescue vehicle, 1 pump truck, 2 vehicle transport vehicles, 6 fire pumps and many officers to the scene.
The department coordinated with the local fire fighting force and Long Xuyen City Police to approach the fire and carry out rescue and firefighting work. Because the store contained many flammable items, the fire spread quickly, with a column of smoke dozens of meters high covering the entire store.
The fire was brought under control after about an hour, prevented from spreading and was completely extinguished. Fortunately, the fire did not cause any human casualties, but property damage was estimated at over 9 billion VND.
Comrade Le Van Phuoc, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Le Phu Thanh, Deputy Director of An Giang Provincial Police were present at the scene of the fire, directing relevant units to urgently investigate and clarify the cause of the fire.
