The authorities in Lam Dong province mobilized forces, approached the scene, and deployed rescue work.
The fire broke out at 6:40 p.m. on January 1 in sub-area 267C, in Hiep An commune, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong.
This is a forest area managed by the Dai Ninh Protective Forest Management Board (Duc Trong District People's Committee).
Mr. Vuong Anh Dung, Deputy Head of the Dai Ninh Protective Forest Management Board, said that at the time of the fire, this unit coordinated with the Duc Trong District Forest Protection Department and authorities and people to approach the scene and put out the fire.
By 8:00 p.m. the same day, the fire was basically extinguished. According to Mr. Dung, the burned forest area is a decades-old three-leaf pine forest, about 3,000 m2 wide.
The forest canopy and trees were burned down and the three-leaf canopy had not yet been affected.
