The Government Office has just issued Official Letter No. 2404/VPCP-CN to the Minister of Construction, the Minister of Finance and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province to convey the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on the investment plan for the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway project (phase 2).
The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and relevant agencies, synthesize and study the proposal of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province, and report to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision before March 31, 2025.
Previously, in early March 2025, the People's Committee of Ha Giang province issued a document requesting the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Construction, and the Ministry of Finance to consider the investment policy for the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway Project (phase 2), the Tan Quang section to Thanh Thuy International Border Gate and include the project in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026-2030.
According to the proposed investment plan, the route is more than 58km long, starting at Km27+480 adjacent to the end point of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway project (phase 1) in Tan Quang commune, Bac Quang district, ending point at Thanh Thuy International Border Gate, Vi Xuyen district.
The expressway is designed with the standards of a grade 100 expressway, a design speed of 100km/h, and sections passing through difficult terrain are designed with a level 80, a design speed of 80km/h.
The total investment for the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway (phase 2) is expected to be 14,852 billion VND, using public investment capital. The implementation roadmap is from 2025 to 2028.
