On July 21, Chairman of Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Committee Tran Minh Khoa and the Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Team (in charge of Duong Dong area) visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to directly support households affected by house damage due to thunderstorms and gusts of wind.
According to Mr. Huynh Van Dinh - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Phu Quoc Special Zone, he has made preliminary statistics on the damage caused by thunderstorms last night (July 20) in the area; at the same time, he has coordinated with the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone to inspect, visit and support affected households.
According to the report of the Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Team (in charge of Duong Dong area), from 6:05 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. on July 20, 2025, there will be very strong thunderstorms in Phu Quoc Special Zone, with wind speeds recorded at Phu Quoc Meteorological Station at 6:07 p.m. at level 10, gusting to level 12.

At around 8:00 p.m., in Duong Dong, strong gusts of wind accompanied by heavy rain and strong waves damaged 4 houses (the most severe damage was in Quarter 6 and Quarter 9), with initial preliminary damage estimated at nearly 300 million VND. Fortunately, there were no human casualties.
Many trees fell on roads such as: 30/4 Street; Hung Vuong Street, Bach Dang Square; Tran Hung Dao; Tran Phu.

According to the forecast of the An Giang Hydrometeorological Station, due to the impact of storm No. 3, the weather in the An Giang sea area will have rain in many places and thunderstorms, locally moderate to heavy rain in some places. West to Southwest wind level 4, level 5, sometimes level 6. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind of level 7-8, rough seas. People limit going out to ensure safety.
