On November 7, a working group led by Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan inspected the work to overcome the consequences of storm No. 13 in Po To commune.
Here, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan praised the proactive spirit of the Provincial Working Group and the Po To commune government in responding to floods and storms, preventing human losses even though floodwaters poured in quickly, flooding Kiem Bridge and causing traffic disruption.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant units to urgently speed up the progress of fixing the problem, first focusing on temporary repairs, no later than Sunday morning (November 9.) to ensure people's safe travel; then deploy long-term construction measures to ensure the solidity of the bridge.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan also praised the spirit of not being subjective and passive in responding to floods in Po To commune, thereby preventing human losses.

On this occasion, representatives of the provincial government gave Po To commune a bonus of 100 million VND and the Security and Order Assurance Team in the area 20 million VND.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, Kiem Bridge is located on Truong Son Dong route - an important traffic route with many means of transporting goods and people passing through. After the storm, major floods swept away part of the bridge abutments, causing the bridge to break; asphalt concrete fell into the stream, causing traffic congestion.
At the scene, the authorities put up ropes, prevented vehicles and people from passing through to wait for a handling plan. Hundreds of people in communes such as Po To, Ia Pa, Kong Chro, Ayun Pa... have not been able to pass through this serious landslide area.
