Lao Cai - After months of floods and storms, rice fields covered with rocks along the stream of Trinh Tuong commune (Bat Xat) have not had a solution.

In mid -April 2025, after more than half a year since the storm No. 3 in 2024 caused many damage, the rice field in San Ho village, new street 1.2 of Trinh Tuong commune has not been overcome.

Over 50km from the center of Lao Cai city to Trinh Tuong commune, as noted by PV Lao Dong newspaper, a large area with hundreds of thousands of big and small stones appeared before the eyes.

It is known that, after the historic flood caused by typhoon No. 3, the overflowing water flowed with a huge amount of rocks down to downstream.

And up to now, these rocks are still sentenced throughout the areas they have passed, bringing so much hardship to the people.

Ms. Phan Ta Ma (Dao ethnic group, 51 years old, resident of Trinh Tuong commune, Bat Xat district) said: "After the floods come, the rocks of all sizes from the mountains overflow to destroy the people's fields.

According to Ms. Ma, the incident happened due to the influence of natural disasters, very lucky that no one was killed. In addition, the commune authorities have promptly supported a part of the funding for people to temporarily stabilize their lives. But in the long run, people hope that the authorities at all levels will soon have a solution to ensure livelihood.

And Mr. Vang A scolded (the H’Mong ethnic group, 75 years old, resident of Trinh Tuong commune) informed: "The flood affecting, we can not blame anyone. Therefore, at present, people have embarked on to restore part of production activities, in order to stabilize their lives soon."

He scolded also said that overcoming damage could take a long time because the amount of rock was too large. People now can only cultivate small fields where they are not buried, or clean up little by little to get cultivated land.

According to the people here, in some rare stream areas, they are not covered by rocks, people will enlist the improvement of the soil to continue cultivating and cultivating after natural disasters.

Along with that, the households expect the government to soon have a plan to support the handling of the above stone volume so that they can stabilize their lives.
