On October 10, the Investigation Police Agency, Quang Tri Provincial Police, said that it was handling and verifying the incident that occurred in Xuan Loc residential area, Bac Gianh ward on the evening of September 28, 2025.
According to the initial investigation, at around 8:00 p.m. the same day, due to the impact of storm No. 10 making landfall, two fishing boats with registration numbers BV-92756 and BV-92754 broke their anchor ropes while anchored at the mouth of the Gianh River, drifted and sank.
The consequences of the incident left 4 people dead (bodies have been found) and 5 people missing have not been found.
The identities of the 5 missing people include: Dang Xuan Duc (born in 1987, from Nghe An) is 1.65m tall, weighs 65kg, white skin, short hair, and skinny figure.
Le Duc Quan (born in 1997, from Thanh Hoa) is 1.65m tall, weighs 66kg, has white skin, and speaks the Central region.
Phan Thanh Nhan (born in 1991, from An Giang) is 1.65m tall, weighs 60kg, has dark skin, is thick- figure, and speaks in a Southern voice.
Doan Cong Thanh (born in 2002, from Dong Thap) is 1.70m tall, weighs 66kg, has white skin, thin figure, and short hair.
Vo Van Trai (born in 1979, from Quang Ngai) is 1.70m tall, weighs 70kg, has dark skin, thick figure, long hair, and a Southern voice.
All of them are fishing, residing in localities in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southwest.
Information about the sunken ship: Fishing boat BV-92754-TS, red-fried seaweed painted body, 20.8m long, 5.75m wide, 2.54m high, using a Hino V25C machine, capacity of 420 CV, went missing with the above fishermen on the night of September 28, 2025 at the Gianh River estuary, Bac Gianh Ward, Quang Tri Province.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Tri Province has notified agencies, units, organizations and the masses to coordinate in searching for people and vehicles with the above characteristics.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at 11:30 p.m. on September 28, two fishing vessels BV-92756-TS and BV-92754-TS with 13 crew members anchored on the North shore, Xuan Loc residential group, Bac Gianh ward, had their anchor broken, drifted freely and had an accident. 4 crew members swam to shore safely, 4 people died, 5 people are still missing.
