On waterway traffic, the police discovered 3 violations and fined 3 million VND.
For railways, the authorities discovered 194 violations, fined 27.2 million VND; temporarily detained 1 vehicle.
According to the National Traffic Safety Committee, on the occasion of the May 1 holiday, there were 65 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 28 people and injuring 56. Compared to the same period in 2024, there was a decrease of 10 cases, a decrease of 2 deaths, and an increase of 6 injuries (all on the road).
Notably, in the early morning of May 1, a tractor-trailer carrying a tank crashed into a house on National Highway 10, An Lao District, Hai Phong City.
According to Hai Phong City Police, the accident occurred at 3:03 a.m. in Quoc Tuan Commune. The tractor-trailer driven by Mr. Vu Huy Manh (38 years old, in So Dau ward, Hong Bang district) in the direction of Thai Binh - Quang Ninh crashed into the house of Mr. Hoang Viet Dung located next to National Highway 10.
Mr. Dung's house collapsed, two motorbikes and many other properties were damaged, no one in the house was injured. However, Manh driver had a broken right leg and the front of the tractor-trailer was severely damaged, lying in the rubble.
On the morning of May 1, Hanoi experienced heavy thunderstorms, causing many trees on Thang Long Avenue and surrounding areas to break and fall onto the road, posing a potential risk of accidents and obstructing traffic. However, the authorities promptly fixed the problem, ensuring safe traffic.
