On May 17, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, leaders of Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee (Gia Lai) said that they had directed the Ward Police to coordinate with the market management force to verify the case of people reflecting suspicion of a fake beef stall in the area.
The incident was livestreamed by people on Facebook, attracting public attention.

Immediately after the information appeared on social networks, the ward directed functional forces to inspect, take samples and work with relevant individuals to clarify the case," said the leader of Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee.
According to initial reflections, on the morning of May 16, Facebook account H.N livestreamed reflecting suspicion of buying fake beef, suspected of being "transformed" from pork at a meat stall in front of a resident's house on Nguyen Huu Tho street, next to Dam market.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. H.N. (resident of Quy Nhon ward) said that in the morning of the same day, his wife bought beef to make breakfast. However, during processing and use, the family found that the meat showed abnormal signs, not like beef as usually used.
According to Mr. N., to check, he put the meat in a bowl of hot water and saw that the meat gradually turned white, no longer the original beef smell but a smell like pork.
Indignant, the couple brought the unprocessed meat to complain to the stall owner. Mr. N. said that the stall owner had requested to return the money and asked not to make a big deal out of it.
I suspect this is marinated pork to fake beef to sell for profit. If it is true, this act is very condemnable because it directly affects consumers, especially young children," Mr. N. said.
According to Mr. N., after the incident was posted on social networks, many people also commented that they had encountered a similar situation when buying meat at this stall. Many opinions suggested that functional agencies soon inspect, clarify and strictly handle if fraudulent acts for profit are detected.
