On June 5, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, leaders of Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee (Gia Lai) confirmed that the police agency is investigating the case of a foreigner blocking a tractor-trailer, smashing vehicles and attacking the driver.
Currently, the Ward Police are working with the driver and foreigners to handle them according to regulations," said the leader of Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee.
According to initial information, at about 8:50 am on the same day, a tractor-trailer with license plate 77C-133.37 driven by Mr. Nguyen Van B. (born 1987) was traveling on Dong Da street (Quy Nhon ward) when it was suddenly blocked by a foreigner riding a motorbike.
This person then held a long metal bar and approached the driver's seat door, continuously attacking the driver. Mr. B. promptly reversed to the back of the driver's seat to avoid being hit. Not stopping there, this person continued to use the metal bar to smash the front glass of the car.
When he saw the foreigner preparing to get on a motorbike to leave the scene, Mr. B. kicked the motorbike down, and shouted for people to help keep this person.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van B. said that while driving, a foreigner on a motorbike suddenly overtook and blocked the front. Initially, Mr. B. thought this person wanted to ask for directions, so he stopped the car.
However, when this person approached the car door with an iron bar and acted offensively, Mr. B. managed to reverse to the back of the driver's seat to avoid it.
At the time of the incident, the car was only traveling at a speed of about 24km/h. Before that, my car did not have a traffic collision with this foreigner. Currently, I have reported the incident to the police agency," driver B. said.
