Located in the center of Vinh City, Nguyen Tat Thanh Park used to be an ideal green space, associated with many generations of people in the city. With an area of 8 hectares (including 5 hectares of land and 3 hectares of water), the park is a cool place for walking, exercising, playing and organizing many community activities.
However, the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper on April 23 showed that this park is currently degraded in most infrastructure items.

Many locations on the paved brick path are peeling and cracked; stone benches are damaged, weeds grow wildly, and household waste is thrown everywhere. The lighting system is almost paralyzed, causing the park to be submerged in darkness at night, posing many potential safety risks. The children's playground used to be a favorite destination for families but is now rusty and severely damaged but has not been repaired or replaced.
In particular, many people expressed grief when witnessing the President Ho Chi Minh monument - a solemn symbol of the park - with peeling brick floor, the surrounding miniature landscape was not cleaned regularly, becoming shabby.

The library in the first floor park is used for advertising printing services, while the entrance to the second floor is fenced with iron nets, shabby and no longer has the function of serving the community as before.
Not only on the shore, the water surface of the park (Goong Lake) is also polluted.

Some workers in the park expressed their regret: We work here every day, seeing the park deteriorating day by day is heartbreaking. The place that was once crowded with people fleeing is now deserted and desolate".

Nguyen Tat Thanh Park is not only a public space, but also a part of the memories, cultural and spiritual life of the people of Vinh City. Leaving this iconic project in its current state is a big loss.
Talking to reporters, the leader of Vinh City People's Committee said that Nguyen Tat Thanh Park was assigned by the city to the City's Cultural - Sports and Communications Center. Vinh. Regarding the shabby situation and loss of urban beauty, the city will direct units to conduct inspections and handle to ensure the environment in the park.
