Lao Cai - Faced with the situation of many roads being flooded and landslides due to heavy rain, the traffic police force has supported people and vehicles to overcome dangerous areas.

In the afternoon of July 9, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, the Km249+600 section on National Highway 37 (Thac Ba commune, Lao Cai province) was deeply flooded, causing difficulties for vehicles to circulate.

Immediately after grasping the situation, the Task Force of Road Traffic Police Team No. 5, Traffic Police Department - Lao Cai Provincial Police was present at the scene, organized traffic diversion, put up dangerous warning signs and used specialized vehicles to support transporting people and vehicles through the flooded area, ensuring safety.

According to functional forces, previously from the night of July 8 to the early morning of July 9, heavy rain also caused flooding and landslides at many points on Provincial Road 170 and National Highway 70.

At Km62+200, Provincial Road 170 (Yen Thanh commune), the landslide point has been repaired, traffic has returned to normal.

Meanwhile, at Km54+100, National Highway 70 (Bao Ai commune), water is still locally flooded on the road surface. Vehicles are instructed to move slowly through the area to ensure safety.

Faced with the complicated developments of the weather, Road Traffic Police Team No. 5 maintains a standing force at key points, organizes traffic regulation and diversion, and coordinates with functional units to promptly handle incidents caused by rain and floods.

The Traffic Police force recommends that people when traveling through Yen Thanh commune on Provincial Road 170 and Bao Ai commune on National Highway 70 need to comply with the instructions of functional forces; do not intentionally pass through deep flooded areas, fast-flowing water or landslide-prone areas.

People should also regularly update weather and traffic information to proactively choose suitable routes, ensuring safety for people and vehicles.
