On September 3, the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police (PC08) reported the results of the traffic safety and order situation in the city during the September 2, 2025 holiday.
According to the Traffic Police Department, all forces are mobilized to fight 24/7 on key routes, gateways and central areas for festivals and fireworks, thanks to which traffic during the holidays is maintained stably, avoiding traffic congestion.
However, there were 2 traffic congestion cases in the areas of Cat Lai Port cluster and An Phu intersection due to increased traffic volume and travel needs of people.
During the 4 holidays, the authorities handled more than 9,500 violations, temporarily detained over 2,500 vehicles, fined over VND25 billion, revoked nearly 450 driving licenses and deducted points from over 1,000 cases.
The alcohol and drug concentration policy alone handled more than 2,200 cases; speed of more than 1,600 cases; overloaded and expanded into bins in nearly 40 cases. On waterways, 125 violations were detected, and nearly 470 million VND was fined.
PC08 Department added that in August 2025, the traffic accident situation in Ho Chi Minh City decreased sharply compared to the same period in 2024: the number of cases decreased by 20%, the number of deaths decreased by 21%, and the number of injuries decreased by 25%.
Road patrolling and control recorded more than 95,400 violations, an increase of nearly 22,400 over the same period.
The authorities temporarily detained more than 25,800 vehicles, fined nearly VND 112.4 billion, revoked nearly 4,000 driving licenses, and deducted over 11,500 points from driving licenses. Of which, the alcohol and drug concentration topic handled more than 21,500 cases; speed over 15,600; overload, and expanded to more than 470.
On the waterway route, more than 1,000 violations were detected and handled, an increase of 400 compared to the same period, and a fine of more than 4.3 billion VND was imposed.
