The clean, airy Metro Station with impressive architecture welcomed a large number of visitors, especially on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
Remember in December last year, the inauguration of Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) was considered an important milestone in urban traffic in Ho Chi Minh City. This is the first urban railway line, opening a new era for a modern and sustainable public transport system.

Metro Line 1 is nearly 20km long, connecting District 1 with Thu Duc City and Binh Duong, including 14 stations (3 underground stations at Ben Thanh, City Theater, Ba Son and 11 elevated stations). The train reaches a maximum speed of 110km/h (above) and 80km/h (underground), helping the entire route to only about 30 minutes.
In the first 6 months of operation (from December 22, 2024), the Metro line operated from 5am to 10pm every day with a frequency of 8 - 12 minutes/trip. After that, the operating time will last until 11:30 p.m. each day, the frequency of trips will also increase, especially during peak hours with only 5 minutes/trip. Each train has a maximum capacity of 930 passengers (including seating and standing seats).

To encourage people to get acquainted, Ho Chi Minh City has offered free tickets for the first 30 days of commercial operation, after which passengers have many ticket options and flexible payment methods. From 1-day tickets, 3-day tickets to monthly tickets, from regular passengers to students, there are different prices...
Buying Metro train tickets is very diverse and convenient. Passengers can buy tickets directly at the station counter in cash or cashless (via POS, bank transfer) and receive a QR code to get through the gate.

The integration between Metro Line 1 and the public bus network, especially the 17 new electric bus routes connecting the stations, creates a seamless public transport system. These bus routes help passengers easily access Metro stations from many areas, encouraging the conversion from personal to public vehicles.
The operation of Metro Line 1 is an important effort of Ho Chi Minh City in modernizing infrastructure and solving urban transport challenges. This project is expected to be a premise for the city to continue developing the urban railway network according to the plan, towards a more effective public transport system in the future.
