People are tired of garbage, stench and muddy roads
Many households living on Road No. 1 and roads in Thoi Nhut 2 Residential Area (Tan An Ward, Can Tho City) said that they have been suffering from pollution for many years. The strong stench, piled up garbage and muddy roads disrupt people's lives.

Mr. Pham Nhut Thanh, who moved to live on Road No. 1 since 2022, said that the landfill had existed before. However, the pollution is getting worse. According to Mr. Thanh, the road was once beautiful and clean, but now it's muddy when it rains, the stagnant water becomes mud, the mud rises; when it's sunny, the dust flies everywhere.
What makes people suffer most is the stench from the landfill, especially when garbage has been stagnant for a long time.
"The smell is very strong, affecting the family's eating and sleeping. The family has to be closed all day and every day, afraid to accept customers. Garbage trucks continuously come and go, causing the road surface to quickly deteriorate, with many potholes, causing unsafety when traveling, Mr. Thanh was upset.

Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nha Uyen, who has rented a house in the area for more than 2 years, said that she has to live with the stench every day, especially during the flood season. When the water rises, garbage flows close to people's houses, causing unsanitary conditions. It was raining, the roads were muddy, making travel difficult.
"My family has to keep the doors closed all day, and our clothes only dare to dry for a short time because they are easily affected by odor. The increase in mosquitoes makes me worried about the risk of dengue fever for my child, even snake bites from the landfill can buy into the house, Ms. Uyen shared.
The Ward People's Committee recommends that the Department of Agriculture and Environment thoroughly handle
