The flash flood in late July and early August robbed the houses and properties of dozens of households in Hang Pu Xi village, Xa Dung commune, Dien Bien province.
But after a short time, with the drastic participation of authorities at all levels, a spacious resettlement area has sprung up, bringing a new, more stable and safer life to the people.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, after 1 month of handover, 20 new houses in the Hang Pu Xi resettlement area have stabilized. The new resettlement area was built in a safe location (near the current Hang Pu Xi village), convenient on the road from Phi Nhu intersection (Ha Dung commune).

In particular, the resettlement area has been invested in synchronous infrastructure, including: leveling, building houses, internal roads, electricity and domestic water systems...
The joy was evident on the faces of the people when they moved to their new homes. Talking to reporters, Mr. Mua Trong Vu (58 years old) said that the flood swept away everything his family had saved, but now, he has a solid place to live.
"It's much better here. The State is very interested, everything is more complete. Compared to the old house in the stream, living here is much safer. No longer have to worry about every time it rains heavily," said Mr. Vu.

Like Mr. Vu, Ms. Hang Thi Ia (22 years old) is one of the households that lost all their assets after the flood: "Life is better now. My family has 4 members, 2 of whom are school-age children. With a new, solid and safe house, we can work with peace of mind".
Stability in housing is an important premise for people to work with peace of mind.
Mr. Mua A Trong (35 years old) - Secretary of the Hang Pu Xi village Party Cell - affirmed: "Since moving to the new place, the houses in the resettlement area have had a stable life. The spirit of the people was very excited. From here, people can rest assured to work and produce, develop the economy, and no longer have to live in temporary conditions or worry."
