On the morning of April 11, Thuan An Ward Police (Thuan Hoa District, Hue City) said that they had just coordinated with the border guards to promptly rescue Mr. H.V.M (born in 1975, residing in Thuan An Ward) when he brought a weapon to threaten to commit suicide, jumped into the sea and took him to the hospital for examination and treatment.
Accordingly, at 1:00 p.m. on April 10, Mr. M showed unusual signs, bringing 2 knives to the embankment to block the waves of Thuan An estuary in Thuan An ward, threatening to commit suicide.
Upon receiving the report, Thuan An Ward Police sent officers and soldiers to coordinate with Thuan An Port Border Guard Station, the local security and order protection force and Mr. M's relatives to encourage him to give up the intention of committing suicide and return to his family.
Mr. M suddenly jumped into the sea and swam hundreds of meters towards the number 0 buoy outside Thuan An estuary with the threat of cutting his arm to commit suicide if someone came down to save him.
In this situation, the police and border guards mobilized local fishermen's boats to mobilize and rescue Mr. M.
After many hours of persuasion and mobilization, at 6:00 p.m. the same day, the rescue force approached, took the weapon from Mr. M's hand and put him on the boat to get to shore.
According to Thuan An Ward Police, Mr. M has recently shown signs of mental illness and is not normal.
Previously, at 5:38 a.m. on April 8, Mr. M went to Phu Xuan bridge (Hue city) and jumped into the Huong river with the intention of committing suicide.
This person then clung to the foot of the bridge and swung on a rope thrown by a pedestrian, and was successfully rescued by Hue City Police.
