On December 4, the People's Committee of Da Nang City issued a document requesting SIH Real Estate Company Limited to immediately suspend construction in the area where the "death hole" incident occurred at the Capital Square 3 Urban Area project.
Investors are required to urgently coordinate with contractors and supervisors to implement remedial measures, reinforce, and ensure absolute safety for the area. At the same time, there must be a report assessing the cause and proposing a handling plan, sent to the Department of Construction before December 6.
The City People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and guide the investor to take steps to fix the incident in accordance with regulations; coordinate with the City Police to direct traffic. Da Nang Power Company inspects and immediately handles locations of power poles and power lines at risk of being affected by landslides. The People's Committee of An Hai Ward closely monitors the investor's recovery process, ensuring traffic order and safety, and reports the results to the City People's Committee before December 7.
Previously, on the afternoon of December 3, a section of the sidewalk and roadway of Nguyen Cong Tru (the section between Ngo Quyen and Tran Hung Dao streets) suddenly subsided, creating a deep hole, digging up the roadbed.
The initial cause was determined to be related to the underground construction of the Capital Square 3 Urban Area Project invested by SIH Real Estate Company Limited.
Immediately after the incident, the authorities arrived and fenced off the dangerous area to ensure traffic safety. Currently, the area where the incident occurred has been blocked off.
