Outstanding achievements in 2024
Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Tran Phuoc Son said that in 2024, the Da Nang City People's Council achieved many positive results, demonstrated by the issuance of more than 350 directive and executive documents; organizing 10 regular monthly meetings with the People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and other sectors, 44 weekly extended Standing meetings and extraordinary meetings. The City People's Council also implemented 24 supervisory topics, organized regular mid-year meetings and 4 thematic meetings, passed 81 important Resolutions on personnel, guidelines and policies, contributing to promoting socio-economic development.
Supervision work was focused on, including monitoring the progress of implementing resolutions, commitments to question and resolve voters' petitions. The program "People's Council with voters" was organized, listening to the thoughts and aspirations of voters and the civil defense force. The People's Council handled voters' petitions, forwarded 438 petitions to the City People's Committee for consideration and resolution, achieving a high processing rate.
In addition, citizen reception and petition handling activities were promoted with 13 citizen receptions by the Standing Committee of the People's Council, 285 citizen receptions by delegations and more than 150 on-site supervisions and inspections.
Solutions to improve quality and operational efficiency in 2025
In 2025, the People's Council of Da Nang City focuses on a number of key solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of operations in the context of the urban government model.
To effectively implement the Central Government's policy, the City People's Council will focus on implementing Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly on Da Nang Free Trade Zone, Conclusion 77-KL/TW of the Politburo on removing difficulties related to projects and land, and Notice 47-TB/TW on building a regional financial center. At the same time, the People's Council will review and summarize Resolution 18-NQ/TW on innovation of the political system's apparatus.
To implement the 2025 Theme, the City People's Council will drastically and synchronously deploy the plan to implement the 2025 Theme according to the Resolution of the City Party Committee and the City People's Council. At the same time, research and propose new ways to improve the quality and efficiency of the activities of the People's Council, the Standing Committee, the Committees, the Delegation Groups and the People's Council delegates.
The People's Council will focus on coordinating with the National Assembly Delegation, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city to enhance the role, responsibility, and quality of operations, promptly handle urgent and outstanding issues, and provide constructive feedback on policies.
The People's Council will focus on the work of people's petitions, direct the implementation and improve the effectiveness of citizen reception and voter contact. At the same time, strengthen the responsibility of monitoring, grasping, reflecting, supervising, urging the settlement of voters' opinions, recommendations and petitions, and organize quarterly sessions to explain the results of handling petitions.
Promote the application of information technology in operations, improve the efficiency of management, operation, supervision and transparency of operations. Build an information system to serve the work of receiving, processing and monitoring voters' recommendations and citizens' petitions.
In particular, training and fostering to improve the professional capacity and expertise of People's Council officials, especially in the fields of law, supervision and urban management. Promoting research and consulting experiences of other localities in implementing urban government models.
Through the synchronous implementation of the above solutions, the People's Council of Da Nang City expects to improve the quality and efficiency of operations, meeting the requirements of the city's socio-economic development in the context of implementing the urban government model.
