Building a roadmap for green transportation transformation, promoting sustainable tourism
Speaking to Lao Dong reporter, a representative of the Department of Construction said that the policy of converting from gasoline vehicles to electric vehicles is receiving great attention from the city's citizens.
In response to information about converting gasoline vehicles to electric motorbikes in large cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang people are very interested in the policies and plans of local leaders in converting gasoline vehicles to electricity, especially in the city center. Many people also sent letters to the City People's Committee's Electronic Information Portal and said that encouraging electric motorbikes will help reduce emissions, limit noise, create a clean living space, contribute to sustainable tourism development, and even recommend that Da Nang do the same as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
A representative of the Department of Construction affirmed that considering converting gasoline-powered motorbikes to electric motorbikes in areas with high traffic to minimize environmental pollution is a matter of special concern to the Government and the Prime Minister.
According to Directive 20/CT-TTg dated July 12, 2025, localities must urgently deploy the identification of low-emission zones, develop a roadmap for pollution control, and at the same time remove legal bottlenecks, mobilize social resources and promote the application of technology.
For Da Nang, departments and branches are only studying a project to gradually convert vehicles to clean energy, including encouraging the use of electric motorbikes.
Solutions being considered include: Building a specific roadmap for conversion; Researching policies to support people and businesses in the conversion process; Promoting the development of public charging station infrastructure and in residential areas; Strengthening propaganda and raising public awareness of the benefits of electric vehicles.
Research on a feasible green transportation conversion roadmap
Da Nang will continue to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to propose feasible solutions, while integrating this content into urban development programs in the coming time" emphasized a representative of the Department of Construction.
According to the plan, in 2025, 1,000 VinFast electric cars will be deployed in Da Nang to serve rental services, promoting the green tourism model.
In March 2025, Green Future Trading and Service Joint Stock Company signed an agreement to lease this number of vehicles to First Real Estate Joint Stock Company to integrate into the service ecosystem. Previously, Green Future has deployed electric vehicle rental services in many major cities, showing that the green transportation trend is spreading strongly in large cities.
Recently, VinFast's "Change gasoline for electricity" program in Da Nang has attracted great attention. Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoai (29 years old) - a shipper - said: "Switching to electric vehicles helps me save 100,000-120,000 VND/day, this amount is enough to cover living expenses". He highly appreciated the VinFast Evo Neo model with its modern design, Full LED lighting system and IP67 standard engine, suitable for flooded road conditions.
Not only focusing on transportation, the city also identifies green transformation, digital transformation and renewable energy as strategic directions. In May 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with Song Da Energy Power Joint Stock Company to organize a workshop on renewable energy certification, digital transformation and greenhouse gas emission reduction.
Thereby, Da Nang is steadfast in its goal of a green - smart city. Encouraging the use of clean energy vehicles, while promoting renewable energy and digital transformation, is the foundation for improving the quality of life, protecting the environment and developing sustainable tourism.
