On September 30, Dong A University and the Japan Institute of Advanced Technology (AIIT) jointly organized an international scientific conference with the theme "Improving digital transformation activities in Da Nang city".
The workshop took place in the context of Da Nang rising to become a leading economic, technological and educational center in the Central region. Pioneering the construction of a smart, green and sustainable urban area is the city's strategic goal.
Faced with opportunities from the 4.0 Industrial Revolution, the trend of green logistics and the global carbon credit market, Da Nang City is promoting digital transformation and developing a green economy to shape a sustainable future.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Thanh Viet - Vice Principal of Dong A University - commented that in 2024, the digital economy will reach nearly 19,9% of GDP, with a growth rate of over 20%/year, Vietnam currently has nearly 48,000 digital enterprises and has increased by 15 places in the global e-Government development index since 2022.
This affirms that digital transformation is not only a vision but also a practical driving force for growth, innovation and global integration.
The workshop gathered 7 research reports, analysis and proposals and recommendations for policies to improve digital transformation activities in various fields in Da Nang City and the regions.
Studies focus on: Proposal to improve Da Nang's internet environment through upgrading high-rise internet infrastructure; Proposal to build "SEZ (Special theoretical Zones)" led by the Advanced Physics - CyberSpace System; Connecting the development of digital human resources (d-HRD);
Policy recommendations to improve the competitiveness of ports through projects providing zero-emission green fuels in Vietnam; Proposals to restore the voluntary carbon credit market; Research on geological heritage associated with the digital economy and sustainable development...
