On February 26, information from the People's Committee of Ban Cong commune (Ba Thuoc district, Thanh Hoa province) said that a landslide had just occurred in the commune, causing a house to collapse.

The incident occurred at around 2:00 a.m. the same day, when the family of Mr. Bui Van Hanh (53 years old, in Ca village, Ban Cong commune) was sleeping, they heard a loud noise from the top of the mountain. Seeing that, Mr. Hanh and his wife immediately ran out of the house. In just a short time, rocks and soil fell down and collapsed his family's house.
According to the representative of the Ban Cong commune leader, fortunately at the time of the incident, Mr. Hanh's family only had two couples and children working far away, so there were no human casualties.
"The house was almost completely collapsed, and household furniture was also damaged, with initial estimated damage of up to hundreds of millions of VND" - the representative of Ban Cong commune's leadership informed.
According to the representative of Ban Cong commune, the landslide area has never seen a similar phenomenon before. There are 5 households around the foot of the mountain, but only Mr. Hanh's house was affected.
Currently, the local government is mobilizing forces and people to help Mr. Hanh's family overcome the consequences of the landslide.
