In response to the complicated developments of storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi), Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee Ta Anh Tuan issued a sea ban, requesting Chairmen of the People's Committees of 12 coastal communes and wards to urgently notify.
Dak Lak province strictly prohibits ships from going out to sea, temporarily suspends all fishing and fishing activities at sea.
The Chairman assigned the Provincial Border Guard Commander, the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and the Department of Fisheries to closely coordinate with coastal localities to closely monitor weather developments.
Proactively notify and guide fishermen to return to work after the storm, develop appropriate production plans to ensure safety.
Regarding the work of ensuring the safety of people and vehicles operating at sea, the People's Committees of coastal communes and wards and relevant agencies and units are required to organize propaganda, inspection, and guide fishermen to strictly comply with regulations when there are notices and call on boats to take shelter from storms and anchor safely.
The province absolutely prohibits people from staying on ships, aquaculture cages, and cages during the storm.
Units that build, repair ships and other sea transport activities must immediately deploy measures to prevent, combat natural disasters and search and rescue according to the approved plan.
The Provincial People's Committee requests relevant departments, branches, localities, organizations and individuals to urgently and seriously comply with the ban on the sea, ensuring absolute safety for people and property.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that storm Kalmaegi has recently entered the eastern part of the central East Sea, becoming the 13th storm in this area in 2025.
At 7:00 a.m., the center of the storm was about 500 km from Song Tu Tay Island, with the strongest winds of 149 km/h, level 13, gusting to level 16 and moving west-northwest at a speed of 20 km/h.
It is forecasted that by 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, the center of the storm will be about 480 km from the Gia Lai province coast, reaching a maximum of 166 km/h, level 14, gusting to three levels, keeping the direction but increasing speed to 25 km/h.
The storm then entered the coastal area of Quang Ngai - Dak Lak with winds of level 13-14 and by 7:00 a.m. on November 7 in the mainland of the two provinces, the wind speed decreased to level 8, gusting to level 10, moving deep into the mainland and gradually weakening.
