Creating consensus
The Gia Binh International Airport project (Bac Ninh) has a scale of nearly 2,000 hectares, spread over 4 communes: Gia Binh, Nhan Thang, Luong Tai and Lam Thao.
According to statistics from authorities, up to now, units and localities have declared nearly 6,700/7,980 households and individuals with an area of about 818 hectares of agricultural land; advanced payment of more than VND 2,405 billion to 4,825 households for 533.6 hectares in Luong Tai, Gia Binh, Nhan Thang communes.
At the same time, the investor and the construction unit are mobilizing human resources and means to level the ground, preparing to construct key items such as VIP terminals, Air Traffic Control points and runways.
In Luong Tai commune - a locality with more than 1,000 hectares of affected land, involving 7,800 households - the Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee has established a Steering Committee and 8 working groups in charge of each village, directly following the grassroots to remove obstacles.
Mr. Phung Duc Luan - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Luong Tai commune said that the Party Committee regularly goes to each village to grasp the situation and listen to the people's reflections. "We have directed 20/20 Party cells to include project implementation content in monthly activities to propagate and explain the long-term meaning and benefits of the project. Party members grasp the policy, thereby spreading it to the people," Mr. Luan shared.
In Nhan Thang commune, more than 17 hectares of land in Khoi Khe village are in the project planning. The Commune Party Committee requested the Party cell to closely monitor the area and grasp each case to promptly mobilize and persuade. The village Party Cell also issued a thematic resolution, assigning responsibility to exemplary Party members to implement it first.
Party member Nguyen Van Nam said: My family has more than 250m2 of land subject to recovery. Understanding the benefits of the project, my family agreed and received the advance payment on the first day.
Thanks to the pioneering work of the Party members, Nhan Thang commune has made an advance payment of more than 16.5 billion VND to 101 households. The synchronous implementation of the plan from commune to village has created unity in the grassroots political system, an important factor in helping the site clearance work ensure progress.
Urgently to serve APEC 2027
At the field inspection and grasp of the site clearance situation of the Gia Binh International Airport project held on the morning of December 2, 2025, Bac Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai emphasized that site clearance is an important task and also the biggest challenge in implementing the Gia Binh International Airport project - a project expected to serve the APEC 2027 Summit.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai requested localities to speed up progress, especially the construction of resettlement areas so that people can soon hand over the land and stabilize their lives. At the same time, investors and construction units must focus on implementation immediately in the areas that have been handed over, completing documents and procedures according to the requirements of sectors and localities.
With the spirit of determination of the entire political system, the consensus of the people and the determination of investors, the Gia Binh International Airport project is gradually overcoming difficulties, reaching important milestones, aiming for completion to serve APEC 2027.
