As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at 5:36 a.m. on October 11, 2025, a house fire broke out at address No. 9, Alley 12, Alley 17, Alley 180, Kim Hoa Street, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward, Hanoi City.
Upon receiving the report, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center mobilized the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team (PCCC&CNCH) of Area No. 9 and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Area No. 10 - Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to dispatch 4 fire trucks and more than 30 officers and soldiers quickly to the scene to organize fire fighting and rescue.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee - Tran Sy Thanh; Lieutenant General Nguyen Tuan Anh - Director of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Ministry of Public Security); Major General Nguyen Hong Ky - Deputy Director; Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Quyen - Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police directly went to the scene to direct fire fighting and rescue work.
As soon as it reached the scene, the fire grew large, engulfing the entire 4-storey house and the 1-storey attic, with a small frontage, about 25m2 in area. The house is located in a deep alley, about 300m from the main traffic road, generating a lot of smoke and toxic gas, causing difficulties in fire fighting and rescue.
The fire fighting commander urgently directed officers and soldiers to use specialized air intakes to deploy search, rescue, and relief; at the same time, mobilized attack teams to advance deep into the fire area to control and prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding houses.
According to initial information from local residents, at around 5am the same day, they discovered the fire, shouted an alarm and used on-site vehicles to initially put out the fire, but could not control the fire.
After a period of efforts, by 6:00 a.m. the same day, the fire was controlled and not allowed to spread to neighboring areas. At around 6:15 a.m., the fire was completely extinguished.
Through the search, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police discovered and coordinated to bring in 5 victims including:

The victims died and were handed over to the authorities according to regulations.
The cause of the fire is being further investigated by the authorities and clarified according to the provisions of law.
