At around 8:00 p.m., the fire suddenly broke out, black smoke billowed from a part of the 27th floor of Xuan Dinh C2 building, located on Do Nhuan street, Xuan Dinh ward, Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi city.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Cuong - a resident of building C2, at the time of the fire, people discovered dense black smoke in the hallway with a strong burning smell.
Everyone immediately shouted, knocked on the doors of the apartments to warn each other and quickly moved to the escape stairs to get to the first floor safely.
At more than 20:20 the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police force mobilized 3 specialized vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene. Firefighting work was urgently deployed, and authorities also instructed people to evacuate from the dangerous area.
A representative of Xuan Dinh Ward People's Committee said that by around 8:45 p.m., the fire was completely controlled, with no casualties. The scene of the fire is still blocked to serve the investigation and clarify the cause.
