Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee has just issued directives on the progress of implementing resettlement areas and resettlement policies for households whose land is recovered to implement the project to invest in building Gia Binh International Airport (Gia Binh airport) and related projects in the area.
The document emphasizes that compensation, support, and resettlement work to clear ground and hand over clean land to investors to construct projects is an extremely urgent task.
Therefore, it is requested that Song Giang Infrastructure and Real Estate Development Joint Stock Company focus its best capacity, mobilize sufficient manpower, resources, equipment and machinery, and construct "3 shifts, 4 teams" to accelerate the progress of implementing resettlement areas to ensure conditions for handing over resettlement land to households earlier than planned.
The investor is fully responsible to the Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee and before the law if the delay in the implementation of resettlement areas affects the overall progress of the Gia Binh International Airport project.
The Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee also agreed with the policy of allowing resettlement for households and individuals with recovered residential land belonging to other projects serving (Ngu River route project, 142ha resettlement area road opening project...) to be resettled at the technical infrastructure construction investment project of resettlement area No. 1 and resettlement area No. 2 to serve site clearance for the Gia Binh International Airport construction investment project.
Gia Binh Commune People's Committee, based on actual needs, resettlement land fund, implements priority arrangement, urgently organizes a lottery, approves residential land compensation plans and organizes land handover to households to ensure publicity, transparency and compliance with legal regulations.
The Departments of Finance, Construction, Agriculture and Environment and relevant agencies and units are responsible for coordinating and guiding Gia Binh Commune People's Committee to implement in accordance with current regulations.
The Gia Binh International Airport project with a total capital of more than 196,000 billion VND, was approved for investment policy by the National Assembly in December 2025.
The project is identified as having strategic significance in reducing the load on Noi Bai airport, while opening up new development space for the East and Northeast of the Capital; the expected capacity will reach 30 million passengers and 1.6 million tons of cargo per year by 2030. This airport can increase its capacity to 50 million passengers and 2.5 million tons of cargo by 2050.
