To continue to speed up the implementation of the task of merging Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa city, Mr. Dau Thanh Tung - Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee had a working session with these two localities.
At the meeting, the representative of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee said that as of December 27, the arrangement, organization, and personnel consolidation had been carried out in accordance with regulations. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations have developed a project to merge the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of the city and Dong Son district. The City People's Committee has also developed a project to establish 11 specialized departments, preparing procedures to submit to the first session of the new Thanh Hoa City People's Council for consideration and decision on January 1, 2025.
Regarding public service units, the City People's Committee will complete the project to establish and reorganize public service units under the city and Dong Son district in January 2025. The arrangement of workplaces for cadres, civil servants, and public employees of departments, offices, agencies, and functional units under the city after Dong Son district is merged into the city will be completed before December 29, 2024.
Also according to the representative of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee, as planned, on the morning of January 1, 2025, the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee will hold a conference to announce the Decision of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on the establishment of the City Party Committee on the basis of merging the Dong Son District Party Committee into the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee and announce decisions on personnel work.
After this conference, Thanh Hoa City will organize the first session of the City People's Council, term 2021-2026 to elect the positions of Chairman, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; Chairman, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Heads, Vice Heads of City People's Council Committees; Members of the City People's Committee...
After listening to the progress reports of the two localities, Mr. Dau Thanh Tung - Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee requested the localities to continue reviewing the progress of implementing assigned tasks, ensuring that the new apparatus of the city officially comes into effective operation on January 1, 2025. For specific associations, the work of establishing associations after merging the two localities must be completed before January 10, 2025.
In addition, Thanh Hoa City is requested to work with the central and provincial agencies and vertical organizations on the plan to arrange offices in Dong Son district and Thanh Hoa city after the merger, to meet the needs of people and businesses. In addition, a working group is established to handle issues arising after the merger of Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa city.
According to Resolution No. 1238/NQ-BTVQH15 dated October 24, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Thanh Hoa province in the period of 2023-2025, the entire natural area of 82.87 km2, with a population of 101,272 people of Dong Son district, will be merged into Thanh Hoa city.
Along with that, 4 wards of Thanh Hoa city were established: Rung Thong ward, Dong Thinh ward, Hoang Quang ward, Hoang Dai ward; Tan Son ward was merged into Phu Son ward. After the arrangement, Thanh Hoa city will have 47 commune-level administrative units (including 33 wards and 14 communes).
